• A named surgeon — in writing. Not “our expert team”. The single most common complaint from package patients is meeting a different surgeon on the day.
• Full-service hospital, not an office theatre — with intensive care on site should anything need it
• Anaesthesia by a staff anaesthetist and the pre-operative blood work and assessment
• All medications and dressings for the first week, including the splint and its removal
• Transfers — airport, hotel and hospital
• Scheduled follow-ups: splint removal around day 7, then structured remote check-ins at set milestones
• A written revision policy — what is covered, for how long, and who pays for travel

What Packages Usually Do Not Include

Red Flags in Package Offers

• A quote given without seeing your photos. A nose cannot be priced blind — a thick-skinned revision case and a small dorsal hump are not the same operation.
• Pressure to decide today or a “this week only” discount
• No surgeon named, or a coordinator who will not put you in contact with the surgeon before booking
• Guaranteed results. No honest surgeon guarantees an outcome; anatomy and healing vary.
• No mention of what happens if a revision is needed

Who Is Actually Selling You the Package?

Before comparing two quotes, establish what kind of entity produced them. A surgeon’s practice, a clinic group and a marketing facilitator all present near-identical websites, but only one of them can tell you with certainty who will operate. This is the difference that produces most Turkish medical-tourism complaints — not incompetence but substitution, where the patient booked one thing and a different surgeon appeared. Deposits, Payment and Cancellation

• A modest deposit to hold a date is normal. Full payment months in advance is not, and it removes your leverage if anything changes.
• Ask what happens if you need to reschedule — illness, work, a positive pregnancy test. A practice has a policy. A sales operation improvises.
• Ask what happens if the surgeon cancels or is unavailable on the day. This is the scenario where substitution happens.
• Understand the currency. Packages quoted in euros are settled at the day’s rate; know which currency you are actually paying in and what your card or bank adds.
• Be cautious about payment methods with no recourse. A clinic that will only accept a bank transfer to a personal account is telling you something.

Why “Premium” Packages Are Often Not

Where a clinic offers tiers, compare what actually differs. Very often the upgrade buys a better hotel, an airport transfer in a nicer car and more nights — while the surgical content, the hospital and the surgeon stay identical. That may be perfectly good value if you want the hotel. It is not a better operation, and it should not be sold as one.

The reverse also happens: a cheaper tier quietly downgrades the hospital or moves the case to a less experienced surgeon. Ask which parts change between tiers, item by item.

What “Revision Included” Usually Means

This phrase appears constantly and rarely means what patients assume. Ask specifically:

• For how long is a revision covered — twelve months, or indefinitely?
• What counts as a revision the clinic will cover, and who decides?
• Does it cover the surgeon’s fee only, or also hospital, anaesthesia and grafts?
• Are flights and accommodation included for the return trip? Almost never — and a revision trip costs what the first one did.
• Is it in the written quote, or only in a WhatsApp message?

A clear, limited, written policy is worth more than a generous verbal promise.
